I am immensely proud of our new sixth form and its unique proposition.
It is a brand new type of sixth form aimed at preparing students for the modern world – helping them on to some of the top universities in England and across the world, or to a job or apprenticeship through our Work Based Learning Programme.
I truly value our students’ aspirations for the future and am fully committed to supporting them in their university or careers based journey.
I believe strongly that a values driven, co-operative approach to learning, based on traditional values of honesty, openness, respect, equality, social responsibility and caring for others is the key to creating an ethos where everyone is valued as an individual.
My career has been based on this philosophy of learning and I have worked in a variety of leadership positions in schools through to regional and national level. However, it is in Stoke where I began my teaching career – spending the best part of 10 years working in the city.
Making decisions about the next stage of education is both exciting and challenging. Exciting in the sense that students can now choose to focus on the experience that will lead them to success and enjoyment. Challenging, because they need to make informed decisions, which will open career options for their futures. At Haywood Sixth Form Academy you can trust us to help them make the right decisions.
We offer the best academic and work based learning in the country for our sixth form students because we believe they deserve the best.
